Einar Thunderhammer is a blacksmith sent to help Hagen Shieldbreaker’s clan, but he’s running late. He might have been captured by Splithoof warriors.
Einar is a Scandinavian given name deriving from the Old Norse name Einarr, which according to Guðbrandur Vigfússon is directly connected with the concept of the einherjar, warriors who died in battle and ascended to Valhalla in Norse mythology. Vigfússon comments that ‘the name Einarr is properly = einheri” and points to a relation to the term with the Old Norse common nouns einarðr (meaning “bold”) and einörð (meaning “valour”).
Mjölnir (from Old Norse Mjǫllnir) is the hammer of the thunder god Thor in Norse mythology, used both as a devastating weapon and as a divine instrument to provide blessings. The hammer is attested in numerous sources, including the 11th century runic Kvinneby amulet, the Poetic Edda, a collection of eddic poetry compiled in the 13th century, and the Prose Edda, a collection of prose and poetry compiled in the 13th century. The hammer was commonly worn as a pendant during the Viking Age in the Scandinavian cultural sphere, and Thor and his hammer occur depicted on a variety of objects from the archaeological record.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mjølnir is a powerful enchanted war-hammer forged by the Dwarves for the Asgardian Royal Family, and was used by Odin before he passed it down to Hela and then Thor. The hammer was used extensively by Thor as his primary weapon until it was destroyed by Hela in 2017. The broken pieces were eventually made into a tourist attraction in New Asgard. Sometime after the Blip, Mjølnir reassembled itself in order to bestow power on to Jane Foster, who began operating as Mighty Thor. However, Mjølnir’s power eliminated any attempts to treat Foster’s cancer. After Foster’s death, Thor regained possession of Mjølnir.
The current list of all the (known) Grizzleheim/Wintertusk references are located here.
Although I am well versed in Pop Culture references, I do not claim to have caught them all. Let me know your favorites in the comments and if I’ve missed one you caught, let me know so I can add it to the list.
