Goober’s Words of Wisdom 2-8-09

owe_logo_splashSunday morning, Pastor preached about the healing ministry of Jesus at the Pool of Bethesda John 5:1-14.  It was a stirring message about how the man in question was expecting Jesus to help him into the pool and what he got instead was complete healing on the spot.

Goober & Ricky of course misunderstood completely.  Goober and Ricky argued about who was going to take the bath.  They had their towels, body wash, and trusty garden hose.  Goober claimed that it was Ricky’s turn for a bath because he had already had his for the year.  Ricky countered that Goober should be the one to get wet because he was controlling tho hose.

When Pastor Gary informed the two of them that he didn’t want either of them to take a bath in church that morning, Goober and Ricky heaved a sighs of relief.  Pastor Gary did inform them that he expected them to get a bath before next week.goober

Pastor Gary then proceeded to inform them that the sermon was about a man who sat beside the Pool of Bethesda for more than 30 years, Goober interupted him by stating that if the man hadn’t had a bath in that long he probably stank.  Pastor Gary tried to explain that the man was not waiting by the bathtub.  Goober however interupted by stating with a knowing air the Bethaisda was Hebrew for bathroom.  Pastor Gary than told Goober he needed to listen to the sermon.
